A few months ago, I was thinking about what makes the San Francisco Bay Area such a vital and wonderful place to live. What immediately came to mind was all the wonderful, creative, and talented people I know, who operate local small businesses. The present economy has been particularly difficult for small local businesses. And yet, their contributions to the sustainability of our local economy, and our quality of life, is critical.
Because my own business, Spectrum Fine Homes, Inc., is focused on Sustainable Design & Green Building, I look at everything through my 'Green Glasses'. Supporting local Manufacturers, Suppliers, our Trade Specialists, and Team, not only is good for the community and local economy, but reduces the carbon footprint of the projects we do. Sustainability is holistic, and attention to labor conditions, health, safety and environmental protection in the workplace & community where products are manufactured is very important to me.
So as I began to share these thoughts with some of my friends and contacts, the idea of Renew & Beautify was born!
Why not invite some of these wonderful people with their unique and beautiful products and services to our office for a fun event?
Invite everybody we know - and everybody out there - who loves beautiful things, and shares our values about the environment and local small businesses.
Have a fun day playing together, trying on clothes, accessories, getting inspired to bring something beautiful into our home, do something special for ourselves to regenerate our spirit!
The first Renew & Beautify Event was held in May, at the Spectrum Fine Homes offices. For the second event, we have been invited to the Dacor Design & Culinary Center in South San Francisco. Our gracious hostess, Charlene Rouspil, has opened this wonderful kitchen & appliance showroom to the Renew & Beautify vendors.
If you are unable to join us on Saturday, November 21st, help 'pay-it-forward' and pass along the invitation to everyone you know, and be sure to visit the websites of all of our participants. Let's create an 'epidemic' of Renewal and positive change!
Prepare for the Holidays & the New Year - We can all make it a Time of Renewal
